Room Based Therapies

At The Hills Holistic Wellness we offer a highly skilled group of warm and approachable Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Counsellors, and Coaches who are genuinely interested in your experiences.

Life can be challenging at times which can lead us to feel alone, stuck or confused. Seeking support can help identify the underlying mental and emotional patterns that cause these behaviours and give greater insight into ourselves which can invite change to occur.

We provide treatment for children, adolescents, and adults to improve mental health and wellbeing.  We value the diversity of our clients and provide a safe non-judgemental environment.

Counselling (whether provided by a counselling psychologist or counsellor) is a confidential and professional service that helps a person become more self-aware and emotionally healthy. Individuals, couples or families may seek help on a range of issues within their personal or work lives. During counselling, you gain a greater understanding of yourself and your behaviours, leading you to a more positive and fulfilled life.

Psychology

Psychologists are professionally trained to assist clients to deal more effectively with life issues and mental health problems. Their professional training involves extensive university study, ongoing supervision and professional development, and they must be registered annually with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) to practice in Australia.

There are differing areas of psychology and often a psychologist has specialised in one of these areas such as Counselling, Clinical, Educational and Developmental, and Health Psychologists. Our psychologists are Counselling Psychologists.

Counsellors

Counsellors and Psychotherapists are either register with Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Registrants have demonstrated an approved level of training, experience and competence and comply with ethical standards as well as continued professional development and ongoing supervision.

Somatic Psychotherapy

Somatic psychotherapy, is a holistic therapeutic approach, incorporates a person’s mind, body, spirit, and emotions in the healing process. Somatic psychotherapy allows from personal growth and mastery come from a journey that looks without oneself, a journey which is best travelled with assistance and support.

According to somatic therapy theory, the sensations associated with past trauma may become trapped within the body and reflected in facial expressions, posture, muscular pain, or other forms of body language. Talk therapy can help address this trauma but depending on the needs of the person in treatment, therapeutic body techniques can supplement more conventional approaches (such as talking therapy) to provide holistic healing.

Feminine Embodiment Coaching

We live in a world which prizes the mind over the body. This has led to many women living from the neck up in a totally dis-embodied state feeling numbed out or habitually pushing away emotions. Feminine Embodiment Coaching honours the wisdom, intuitions and feelings of the body as a resource for approaching life’s challenges. Sarah works with any and all life issues including releasing shame, discovering personal power, redefining boundaries, education on the esoteric & quantum theory of polarity, the dynamics of attracting/repelling our desires and expanding pleasure and sensuality.
